My Style:

I tend to be all about texture, a lot of times focusing on that aspect rather than the subject itself. Texture, most times, ends up being my subject. I love to lay on the colors and not be so literal as to the shade it is "supposed" to be. I see all different colors in an object and I'll pick one or two to emphasize.

The Woman Behind the Lens, Canvas, and Paper:

• I am a wife of the most loving, caring, and understanding husband who also has an art background.

• I am the mother of a special little girl born January 2012.

• I have two angel babies who are watching over me, my husband, and my daughter.

• I'm a daughter of parents that have been married for 40 years.

• I'm a sister to an older brother and two younger sisters.

• I survived skin cancer.

• I live with Primary Lymphedema in both legs and feet, Raynaud's, Fibromyalgia, TMJ, and PCOS.

• I favor the country over the city.

• My favorite movie is Willy Wonka and the Chocolate Factory.

Art Schools:

• BOCES Cultural Arts Center (now named Long Island High School for the Arts) in Syosset, New York. I was there for my last two years of high school loving every minute of it. I found a place I finally belonged. I studied Fine Art and Photography as well as Creative Writing.

• School of Visual Art in New York City. I studied Illustration and wanted to become a children's book illustrator. I went for two years, long enough to know that illustration was not for me. Not knowing where to go from there I took some time off from school.

• I studied Graphic Design at Briarcliffe College in Bethpage, New York. I went there just to get some know-how of computer art programs.

• Long Island University, C.W. Post Campus in Brookville, New York. Received a Bachelor of Fine Arts majoring in Painting and Photography.
